1
Let us rise at dawn
To praise our Lord Jesus.
What joy there is in the morning
When we draw near to our Beloved!
2
Another beautiful morning
Has come to us, O my soul.
What great joy there will be
When our Beloved comes as the Sun of Glory!
3
My heart beats with gratitude
As I remember the mercy
Of Jesus, our loving Father.
What a wonderful opportunity this is
To meditate on His mercies, one by one.
4
How many people who were alive
And living on earth yesterday
Have already departed from this world!
But we have been given another day
To sing praises to our Beloved.
5
I came into this world with nothing,
And I will leave it with nothing.
Nothing in this world truly belongs to me;
Nothing will go with me when I leave.
6
Oh, what joy—great, overwhelming joy—
When I think of my Beloved's love!
What joy it is that my Beloved
Has prepared a new heaven
And a new earth for us!
7
Like a weary traveler
Leaning upon her Beloved
As she comes out of the wilderness,
I too journey through this wilderness,
Longing to reach my eternal home.
8
There are fierce storms
In this wilderness, my Beloved.
Please do not leave me.
I come to You with longing;
Please bring an end to all my sorrow.
