         Smarnnaavil sabhaa doothane! ninperkku njaan
         Nalkunnee lakhuvaam lekham
         Vanmruthiyil veenu pinneyum-ezhunnettu
         Punnya-jeevane-yaanda- thudassam-odukkamaam
         Vidagdhannuraypithe-

1. Prathyaksham daridran thanne -ennaalum nee
   Sathyathil danikanathre
   Nithyam njaanariyunnen-midyaayoodaraay nilkkum
   Saathaan palliyaar ninmel
   Chumathumanavadhi kadutha dushimozhi-
    
2. Ottum nee bhayappedenda-vannidaanulla
   Kashtam nee sahikke vendu
   Dushtanaam pishachippol pathunaal mathapeeda
   Srushtikkum pareekshippaan thadavil chilar kidannuzhannu
   valanjidum-
    
3. Vishwasthanaayirikka nee maranatholam
   Vithrasthanaakaruthottum
   Pashchaal jeevakireedam- datham cheythiduven njaan
   Sathyastharkkaho! randaam maranamathiloru
   Vinayum varikilla-

Meaning:

O angel of the church in Smyrna!
This short letter I give you
is for the one who has fallen into death
but has risen again and now has divine life.
This is the word of the Expert One
whose beginning is the end.

1. You may appear to be poor,
but in truth you are rich.
I know everything about you.
I know the slander spoken against you
by those who falsely claim to be Jews—
they are a synagogue of Satan.

2. Do not be afraid at all
of the suffering that is about to come upon you.
The devil will cause persecution
for a period of ten days to test you.
Some of you will be thrown into prison
and will suffer greatly because of this trial.

3. Remain faithful even to the point of death,
and do not be afraid.
Then I will give you the crown of life.
O faithful ones, rejoice!
The second death
will cause you no harm.
