O Lord, Who Dwells in the Bosom of the Heavenly Father!
How did You leave heaven
and come down to this earth?

You left behind Your glorious and exalted position,
a position of incomparable majesty,
for the sake of humanity
and came down to this world.

2.
O eternal Lord, who never knew the bitterness of death,
You came to save Your enemies
and deliver them from death.

3.
For the sake of us who were once without devotion to God,
You did not hesitate
to suffer death for our sake.

4.
You accepted death
so that all humanity might be purified
and brought to know the true God.

5.
You are the Lord of the universe
who revealed clearly to the world
the very nature of the invisible God.

6.
O Son of God,
we see in You the glory of the One and Only Son,
the radiant glory of God Himself.

7.
O Lord and Giver of Life,
show us the way of life,
so that we may live
with a brightness like that of a lamp.
