Thanks to Immanuel, my beloved Lord Jesus,
You who are heavenly became earthly,
And took away my terrible sin.

I was the one who had fallen
Into a deep pit and terrible mire.
You came down, lifted me out,
And set my feet upon the solid rock.

You established my steps firmly
So that I might sing a new song.
Therefore, I dedicate myself to You,
Turning away from the desires and attractions of the world.

You were brutally beaten,
Your body covered with blood from Your wounds.
Your heart was broken by insults and rejection,
And You bowed Your head upon the cross.

My heart breaks and my eyes overflow with tears.
How can my troubled heart ever describe
The suffering and agony that You endured?

I will love You, serve You, and worship You
All the days of my life.
