I Must Tell U This.........

As someone who loves you, I cannot hide this fact from you. My days are running out and I don't know if I'll get another chance to tell you the truth.

When I was a child, I used to think I had a long life ahead of me, until I became like my grandfather. I finished my education and started a family. Life was colourful and fun at first, but it changed when I became a father. My priorities shifted and I focused more on making money. At first, this gave my busy life some meaning, but no sooner had I created some wealth of my own than I lost interest in it. I felt like I was a shuttle train, running without rest or change! I asked myself, 'Is that all I am living for?' Will I also die like a plant that looks green today but withers in a day or two? Who will remember this plant after its green days are over? Will it not become manure for the next generation? Am I just like a plant?”

My quest for the true meaning of life continued. I ignored the voice in my head telling me that I am more than a plant or an animal, because I could see no difference between my life and theirs. They eat, grow, reproduce and die, just like humans do. Perhaps some plants or animals think the same way I do. Wait... I have never heard of or studied a thinking plant. Animals can think, but none of them worry like I do. Why do I think more about my life than animals think about theirs? What is the difference between me and an animal? Who created me differently to animals or plants?

I started looking at nature more closely than ever before, and to my surprise, I noticed that everything in this universe is exactly as it should be. I remembered studying the ‘food cycle’ in my biology classes. What perfect planning! Even climatic changes and their effect on nature are beneficial to humans. When I closely observed the functions of my body, I realised that there must be a mastermind behind this universe, and I must salute him for this magnificent design. But I still didn’t know who he was.

As I continued my search for the master creator, my nights became more sleepless. I read many books in an attempt to discover the origin of humankind. Some of them set out possible origins of humanity, while others were more direct. At last, at the height of my curiosity, I found a book that clearly explained man’s origin. Not only that, but it also explained the purpose of his creation. I felt as if I had found my ancestor's diary! I read the book very carefully, without skipping a page. It gave a detailed account of the history of mankind for the first four thousand years. The book is called the Bible, the Word of God. Though it was written by many people according to the inspiration they received from God, it gives the reader real peace and hope for their life. As I read it, I realised the purpose of human life. We were created to live with God. However, when he disobeyed God, he lost his connection with Him and was banished from His original home. Man continued in his sin through his association with the Devil. As part of the human race, I realised that I am also a sinner, and that the Holy God, my creator, cannot accept me or my worship unless my sins are erased. The book says that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth and died for our sins. He rose again from the dead on the third day, and now lives in heaven. He will return to take with him all those who believe in him and accept him as their Lord.

This is the truth that I wanted to tell you. It is my duty to share this good news with you, my dear friend, so that you may also come to this knowledge. Please try to get hold of a copy of the Bible and read it for your own benefit. You will be surprised at how much joy you will get from reading it. No other book can bring you such joy and peace. The Bible also says that, on the day of God’s wrath, 'every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord'. I urge you sincerely to escape that day by accepting His Lordship. Thank you for reading my letter so patiently. We may not meet again in this world, but I hope to see you before the throne of Jesus Christ!

Please write to me if you would like to know more about Jesus Christ.
